Goddess of Plenty: World-Building

The lips tasted of honey, and the hair of cinnamon, and the fingers of sugar-cookies. The children laughed and snatched pieces of peanut-brittle fingernails and cotton-candy hair. The men made ribald jokes when they took a piece of the sugar fruited breasts. The woman bowed their heads for a brief moment before taking a peppermint button from the bodice or a quick honeyed kiss. The goddess of plenty sat serene even as she was disassembled and taken apart until all that remained was the strong bread skeleton sitting on the silver platter. That, too, had to be eaten, but by then it was a week old and the bread was stale, so people took a small piece as obligation and not the joy that it had been in the beginning. That was when the kitchen drudges and the other servants got to have their piece of the goddess.

Inspiration: "The Ol Beggars Bush" by Flogging Molly
Story Potential: Low. This is a world set-piece.
Notes: Worldbuilding. Very pretty, though. I like the symbolism.

NOT That Tom Petty Music Video Where He's Dressed Up As The Mad Hatter!! Secret Aztec Reinterpretation??? Lemme know when it's readable.

Also--have you done character stuff for the villains project yet and sent it to Cole?

Yup, I'm a nag.

That's what REALLY inspired you, wasn't it? Terrified Alice.

I thought I was supposed to wait! Until the world was chosen!

I'm a little unclear on it. They are a villain team, yes? What world are they in? I think I have an idea. It's Castillian! I will work on it tonight, then.

I think I'm going to work the Aztec thing into a bigger project OR work it as a short story, which I might work into the bigger project later. Which is, apparently, not all that uncommon.

Don't even talk to me about short stories turning into novels.

More that, with certain types of short stories, you can insert them into a larger story. Have a short story about future-war? Bet it could be worked in to the novel with war looming 200 yrs from now. Short story about a group of people or a single person that changes? Implantation time.
