Climbing Zombies: Horror
May. 25th, 2005 10:16 amShe gripped the rails of the ladder with both hands. The rust-cracked pant dug into her palms. She leaned into the water tower and kicked out with both her feet. One of the zombies went down, its face crushed into a flat pancake with her footprint in the middle of it. She swung back to the ladder and climbed it as quickly as she could, pulling herself up hand over hand. She couldn't remember when the zombies had learned to climb. At first, staying thin the city had been a great idea. Ready supplies of food, lots of easy-to-guard buildings, a water supply still held in its tanks. Then the zombies learned how to climb.
Inspiration: Planning a post-apocalyptic photo-shoot that involved doing that kick off a ladder.
Story Potential: None.
Finished Length: I'm not going to write it.
Notes: Zombie stories are difficult. I can think of two novels based in a zombie world that are good...and lots that are assembly-line ass. Short stories? Well, ya need a hell of a twist, or a new perspective on zombieness. Movies, on the other hand...we can always have more zombie movies. More...zombie...movies.... Bbbrrrraaaaaiiiiinssss....
