Music of the Spheres: Sci-fi
Jun. 8th, 2005 11:38 pmPinging deep space sonar calls, like whales circling in the deep. The sounds filtered through the recorder, but the static nearly drowned them out. Marly leaned closer over the radio. Was that intelligent communication? Nobody knew. What made the sounds in deep space? The sound was impossible to decipher...mathematicians had been working on the music of the spheres for three decades. The dance of harmonies moved to a rhythm inscrutable. Marly smiled at her own flight of imagination. It was just sound, random static generated by the energy of the suns. To imagine it as sonar calls, or as dance, was pure fancy. Still, the station was abandoned except for her and the omnipresent video cameras.
