Urban decay was like a tooth that should've been pulled two months ago. It hurt the eyes. And so councilman Jordan was determined to see it go. He stepped into his office, narrowing his eyes when he saw a slight crack in the sidewalk outside. It was the little things that mattered. Leave that crack where it was and in two weeks it would be twice as wide with a dandelion growing out of it. Plaster it over now, and you wouldn't be able to tell where it had been. Wait to=two weeks, and you'd have to root out the dandelion and then plaster it over, and even then, unless it was done extremely well, there'd be traces that you could see. Today he would persuade the rest of the council to pull the dandelion. The argument had gone on for far too long. Certain things had made the city decay faster, like the dandelion putting out its roots, and they must be dealt with.

Inspiration: I was thinking of what lj tags I could use for the types of photography I take, and I'd just gotten to urban decay.
Story Potential: Low.
Finished Length: Short story, really bad novel. No, wait...a novella!
Notes: So what is the element that has made the city decay faster? Who cares! Got my freewriting exercise done, not gonna be coming back to this one, fer sure.
