The tiny blips flickered across the view screen so quickly that Dot was almost convinced that they'd been in her imagination. Her instincts overrode her doubts, though; before she'd had a chance to think about it, her palm was slapping against the large red alarm button beside the watcher's chair. A klaxon of chimes rang through the crawler. "What's going on?" his voice tense, her husband Alan popped his head into the cockpit. Her heart warmed at the sight of him, despite the situation. His hair was tousled and there was a dusting of flour over the front of his jumpsuit. "Saw some blips," she told him. "Not sure, entirely, but I hit the alarm before I'd a chance to think about it."
