The lip rouge tube unscrewed quickly, and she hastily rubbed the red circles over her nipples and then used it to make her lips glow. The sheer top that she would wear would make the cosmetics shine underneath it. Her eyelashes were in a box beside the mirror, and it was only the work of a moment to affix them on top of her eyelids. The eye shadow and cheek shadow was in a multi-sprayer; she set the nozzle for narrow spray, selected a dusky shadow for her eyelids, and sprayed. Then she set it to a wide swath and chose a peach color for her cheeks that would make her lip color seem even brighter. The clothes were laid out and ready; the little harem pants with slits up to the sides that would have had her stoned on her home planet and the little top that was more of a tease than any sort of concealment. She pirouetted in front of the mirror. If this didn't get the khan's attention, nothing would. She picked up the multi-sprayer and switched the configuration to something called "shine." A hidden compartment popped out and she removed the miniature injection tube. From the side of the lip rouge tube she extracted a hair-thin needle whose end glistened green in the dressing room light.

Inspiration: "Pieces" by Claire Voyant--and, embarrassing to admit, that cellphone commercial that has Gwen Stefani putting on makeup.
Story Potential: Medium. Nothing special, nothing awful.
Notes: I have no idea why I suddenly seem incapable of doing these updates every day, but it's annoying. Must fix. About the story itself--so, yeah, future, science fiction, empire--this girl has changed herself in every way from the beliefs that she was taught on her extremely religiously conservative backwater planet--all to get revenge on the person who is trying to destroy it (or she's doing this to save it). This isn't the story, not so much. The story is what she does after this succeeds. She can't go home again--they would have to kill her for blasphemy, among other things. Oh, she'd be a martyr, but no-- I guess this is another one of those "identity" story ideas. Subconscious, are you trying to tell me something?
