"Allahu...." The child ground to a halt. She began again. "Allahu akhbar." God is great. She couldn't remember the rest of it, though. She knew it was probably a bad thing for her to be reciting the call to prayer, anyway: that was for the muezzins, and the muezzins were always men. But she thought it might be time for prayer, and it didn't seem right for her to pray without the call. She couldn't remember all the words, though. She hadn't heard the call to prayer in--she counted on her fingers--seven months, one week, and five days. It had been that long that she'd been stuck in the storage compartment with--
