Falada: Fairytale
Jun. 6th, 2006 11:11 amShe betrayed me and I watched the end of my life. When she walked away, she took my life with her, along with my jewels, my husband-to-be, and my title. Even my name, she took. And it was my own fault, for I had trusted the serpent and drawn her close to my bosom, until she could find the key to forcing me to give up all. She had been my maidservant, and I had been the princess, until she found that key. Then she became the princess, and I the maidservant sworn to silence and unable to break the oath even in the most extreme of circumstances. Seeing her ride away on my horse was pain beyond measure, and seeing the other things that she took with her paled beside that. I had never wanted my name, particularly, but I found that I missed it when it was gone.
Inspiration: "De (That's All Right) Lilah" - Flogging Molly
Story Potential: High.
Notes: Huh. A retelling of the goose girl story. I like it. Probably novel length.
