The scream in the distance was what made her realize suddenly that she was still alive. A ghost wouldn't care about another woman getting ripped to pieces in the distance. A ghost wouldn't think that if she didn't manage to get moving again, somehow, she would be the next to join her. No, those concerns were for people who were still alive. And if she was still alive...this was the difficult part...then she didn't belong at the bottom of the pile of dead people, their corpses mangled almost beyond recognition. If she was still alive, then she had to squirm her way out of the pile and try to escape. She mostly just wanted to close her eyes and not listen and fall asleep, even in the middle of a pile of corpses. Because either she would wake up and it would all have been a dream, or she'd never wake up again at all.

Inspiration: My oh-so-chipper mood.
Story Potential: Low.
Notes: Eh. This could happen in any number of stories, but it sure ain't a story on its own.
