Minotaur: Myth Retelling
Oct. 2nd, 2007 10:41 amThe nine maidens and men shivered in their shackles, staring into the dark depths of the maze in front of them. Something clanked to land on the ground beside them. The closest maiden stooped and picked it up. Seeing it was keys, she frantically unlocked her shackles. She might have run away then, but even though a distant bellow made her shudder, she went from person to person, unlocking their chains. Once they were all free, and half of them had run away, she stared up, but the door that they had been dropped through was bolted shut; there was no way to escape there. She rubbed her wrists, and walked forward, into the Minotaur's maze. A maze always had something at the center of it, she thought, hoping that the thing at the center was more than--

Notes: I mean, it's a myth retelling, and not one done so often, despite the popularity of the Minotaur himself. That's all that bumps it up from low, because there's nothing else particularly interesting here.
