How had--her mind struggled to even think in words--how had it gotten half-full? It had tasted so sweet. So sweet, like something in such a pretty glass should. But why was it half-full? Why was she on the carpet? Why was there something rough around her wrists? It was such a pretty glass. Then there was light, and she realized--slowly, so slowly, that there hadn't been light before. Why had she not noticed there was not light? What was wrong with her? The glass was only half-full; it was half-empty. The tongue tasted--
