Mountain Monkeys: Fantasy
Aug. 1st, 2008 09:50 amFlying safely was a problem in the skies these days, because the mountain monkeys had found gliders and were now swooping over valleys with pots of flaming tar, keeping the dragons from ascending when they'd gone down to feed. Even the angels were concerned, for the mountain monkeys were supposed to stay on their mountains, loving the ores and the mechanical devices they made. It was a concern. The angels had agreed with the dragons about the danger, but they hadn't warned the other species yet. And so when the human farming community in the valley had their fields bombed and burning, the humans thought it must be the dragons, for what else flamed from above. They rousted up a champion and sent him forth to slay the evil dragon, and if it weren't for the knight's squire, that might have been the beginning of the extinction of the human race.

Notes: It's not a style I care to write, nor an especially original story.
