Peanut Butter Salvation: Science Fiction

She began screaming out loud when she ate a Reese's peanut butter cup. She'd been screaming on the inside for a very, very long time, and she was as shocked to hear the scream as anybody else around her. She wondered why her throat was beginning to hurt and why her body wasn't moving anymore. She wondered who was screaming and why she was still staring straight ahead at the candy store display. There was nothing interesting there--why hadn't it turned her head to see what was going on? She heard nothing but her own screams. Her body shuddered an inhale of breath, and that was when she began to think something different was happening. She felt it--differently. It was not a controlled motion. It jerked and shuddered as she hadn't since the early days of implantation--
