Heir: Fantasy
Oct. 23rd, 2009 09:43 am"They don't want her because she's a girl?"
"No, that's not it at all. If the king had chosen one of his legitimate daughters as heir, well, a few hairs would be turned, I suppose, but not like this. Nobody has ever chosen a by-blow peasant daughter as their her--most of us think he's doing it just to spite the rest of his family. You heard about the embarrassment four months ago?"
"When he discovered one of his daughters was sleeping with his own mistress, and that together they were plotting to be rid of him? Yes."
Inspiration: Voices heard in my head while I was in the shower this morning. Probably inspired by my thinking about how heirs are chosen after reading Naamah's Kiss.
Story Potential: High.
Notes: Because I like the character and the set-up. Though this itself would not be enough on it's own. This could provide some of the internal conflict, and factor into the external, but there needs to be a bigger transformation or threat.
