The questions flew fast and furious, and inquisition that seemed never to end, and it would not end, he knew, until he found--whatever it was that he was supposed to find within the questions. Some of the questions were easy, some were hard, some were personal, some were *very* personal, and some were just about ordinary philosophies or things he'd studied in his classes. He answered them all, trying to be completely accurate, trying not to react in anger or defensiveness. He'd guessed beforehand that maybe that was the test. After the second hour, he thought it wasn't. The test would have been done by now if it was. He answered the questions, but his mind wandered, as he thought of what the real test might be, his answers became rote and not requiring much thought. Then he saw it, for just a second, a glimpse of the structure of the questions and the gaps they left. He answered a gap.
Inspiration: The Writer's Block prompt.
Story Potential: Medium.
Notes: This is some sort of philosophical Inquisitor's Training sort of story. Could be fun, but I don't know what the shape of it is.
