Alien Silver Screen: Science Fiction
Jan. 31st, 2011 02:57 pmCarole Lombard was an alien, a black-and-silver gleaming creation of the pinnacle of Earthly beauty that couldn't possibly be true. So he knew she must be an alien. There were lots of them around these days. He wasn't sure about President Kennedy, but the president's wife sure was. Most of the movie stars, because--no human was ever that perfect. And he was pretty sure that the corner store soda jerk with the shining white teeth and perfectly Brilliantined hair was an alien, too. Now, some people got nervous when he told 'em about the aliens, and started asking pointed questions about what he thought should be done with the aliens. They figured he was delusional and would go get his shotgun, or something, but truth was, he liked life a lot better with the aliens in it.
Inspiration: Some LJ featured community about silver screen era movie stars.
Story Potential: Medium.
Notes: I like the character, but without the anti-alien sentiment, not sure that this story can do anything. Hrm. Maybe tying it in to the whatsit--boards of inquiry about being Reds? Not the right time period, really, is it? Hrm.
