River of Stones: Fantasy

A river of stones to keep her sane, that was what the witch had said about her sister, before the 'catchers got her and had their own river of stones to kill the witch. Her sister, well, her sister had never seemed to start out too sane, and besides, where could you get a river of stones? She'd heard stories of rocks rolling down the mountains, but they were well into the lowlands, where there might be some stones in rivers or fields, but certainly not enough to make a river. She started bringing stones home for her sister, though, in hopes. The 'catchers had stoned the witch, and that was good enough for her to believe the witch really had been a witch, and not a charlatan. The 'catchers just branded the fakes.
