Apr. 10th, 2012 10:17 amShe carefully sat him on the couch, hooked the electrodes from the 'hacked print feartracker (she'd tested it on herself, when she dared to get too close to the neighbor's vicious dog, and the meter went damn well off the scale, so she knew it worked) onto his head, and sank the reality over him. It was a test. She hoped this might be a big moneymaker, but she knew it needed a lot of pushing, and she didn't want to take out a mortgage on her just-paid-off apartment unless it would work. He tensed as the image of a decaying slum apartment veiled around him. He would hear the drip of the tap. He would see the sagging couch that looked like generations of bedbugs had taken up residence.

Story Potential: Medium
Notes: Cool idea, but I think it would make a better for-real app than a story. The article did make me think some about the importance of engaging the lizard brain in my readers, but that's difficult.... What am I supposed to do? Release some crickets?
