The dancers circled the floor slowly, their arms clasped around each other. Step to the left, turn, dip...the ladies' elegant necks stretched and extended like geese before the chopping block, the gentlemen's faces immobile and proud as ancient statues. The music kept playing long into the night. The stars wheeled above the skylights in the atrium when the musicians finally set down their instruments. The oboe player huffed his breath out. The woman playing the bass set it aside with a tap of her foot to send it spinning as if it were her dance partner in silence. Then, with all the instruments set aside, the music began again. The bass player looked around her with an expression of disbelief ion her face.

Inspiration: None. 'Dancers' just happened to be the first word I typed.
Story Potential: Low.
Finished Length: If anything, this could be a scene that occurs in the first third of a novel focussing on the female bass player. Because female bass players are hot. Established fact.
Notes: I have no idea where the oboe player came from.... The bass player is the main character. This would be based off the fairytales about faery dances where you can't stop dancing.
