Veggarden: Sci-fi
Aug. 15th, 2005 12:34 pmRadishes and tofu sprouted up from the veggarden in the kitchen. Mika walked into the kitchen closet, glanced at the garden, and scowled. Looked like dinner for the next week would be soup again. They'd all agreed that that was the only way that they all liked the tofu and veggies when they couldn't fry it up. She missed when the grocery stores had closed because of the veggarden innovations. Every flat had a veggarden, but sometimes you really missed meat. Her mouth still watered when she thought of the horse steaks that the small restaurant around the corner used to serve. It was unhealthy, she knew. There were still the same nutrients in the tofu. But now the best you could do was fried rat from one of the blackmarket street vendors.
Inspiration: "Beef and Broccoli" by Immortal Technique
Story Potential: Low
Finished Length: Short story.
Notes: Blech. I do like tofu in some things, but...blech. This isn't even a glimmer of a story. It's a boring stream-of-consciousness sci-fi.
