She wondered if her face had looked so pointlessly brave that long-ago day when she had made the walk up the old man mountain, and she guessed that it had. When they were close enough, she moved, and they saw her. A couple of them jumped. She smiled a wintry smile that doubtless froze their marrow. "Good," she said, and her voice was like the creaking of an ice-laden branch before it breaks. "Full levy has arrived as promised, and so you will swear to me and follow me in Winter until Spring comes to take you from me. Kneel." They knelt in the snow, though it came up to thigh-height on them, and--

Story Potential: High.
Notes: Consider the seasons mythology/fairytales in writing this--Persephone & Hades, the Snow Queen, etc. Could be quite good, I think.
