Dec. 15th, 2005 12:49 pm"I'll be back again, I promise you," he assured her, bending over to kiss her on the forehead. "One morning you'll come down to breakfast, and there I'll be sitting, waiting for you. Now be a good girl and promise to obey your mother and to be nice to everybody. " "Will you get me a present if I'm good?" He laughed. "I'll bring you a present even if you're bad, but if you're good it will be extra nice." "I'll be good," she said solemnly, with all the gravity that only a four-year-old could muster. "I'll be very, very good. I'll be so good that you'll have to get me the best present in the world."
