Radio Free Saline: Science Fiction
Dec. 19th, 2005 07:00 pmRadio Free Saline came on the air just in time for primetime, according to plan. Everybody who heard the broadcast, even the government officials, agreed that it was a great pity that nobody was actually listening live. It simply wasn't the way, anymore. That was all. Everybody streamed the broadcast into their net-cube, to listen to when and if they had time, if their sorting paradigm recognized it as something that they would be interested in. Radio Free Saline did a fine job of targeting those who would be receptive to their message; they just hadn't been out in the real world for about fifteen years, the length of time that they'd spent building their little fortress. So it was that everybody missed the message-suicide, and its impact was much lower than its creators had hoped.
Inspiration: Not sure.
Story Potential: Low.
Notes: Well, it became more entertaining after I followed the spellchecker's suggestion and changed "Selene" to "Saline"--but still meh. The whole idea fails on the premise of future development. I mean, sheesh! Time delayed entertainment? How three years ago!
