A farthing for a crow, a farthing for a candy, but the candy's only sweet for a moment and the crow will take you past the reaper. He mused over the old poem and decided that, all in all, he would rather have the candy. Take what was sweet when it was there and worry about death when it came for him. He rather doubted that a crow could sweep him past his jailors, and he knew the days of his death were being counted. His imprisonment was a kind of death, for all it was sugarcoated with nice furniture and a pretty maid who came in to clean his rooms and to bring his food. He thought that he was expected to bed her: definitely by her, perhaps even by his jailors. He had avoided the temptation with some amusement. He did not know why they thought a mortal girl could lure him after he had slept with the faerie queen.

Inspiration: "farthing"
Story Potential: medium.
Notes: It's a rather basic set-up, nothing uniquely interesting about it.
