The bricklayers found the alien body at high noon. They'd just pulled the sundial up, after admiring its precision. Underneath the remarkably regular sundial, they saw a bone. The foreman was quickly summoned, and he shouted to his team to stop digging at once. Then he got his two best men to come and carefully excavate around the area, setting all the bricks and stones and other rubble into one basket, in case it was a crime and others would need to see it. They worked with tiny knives and fine brushes to clear the area around the bone. It did not take them long to see that this was neither a case of one bone, nor a case of a family pet.
Inspiration: None.
Story Potential: High. Very high.
Notes: First contact with a corpse? Or (more interesting?) complications with an existing contact? Foreman drawn unwilling into the fray? ??? Many options, fun set-up. Probably a novel, but not necessarily.
