The otters sing quietly to themselves as they sail the ship through the sea of stars. It helps to bide against the monotony. The stars' positions change so slowly, it is impossible to see them change with the naked eye. There is none of the swift-flowing currents that they could delight in, flipping and swirling with fallen leaves or fleeing fish, cracking oysters open with rocks. There is none of that quick, lightning change that is the otter's delight. Instead, there is the slow, gradual change. They have learned to take a more lugubrious joy in the change, to sing slowly, to swirl slowly, to slow their minds and the pace of their desires--

Inspiration: "otter sing"
Story Potential: High.
Notes: I don't know if this is plausible, or interesting, or anything...but something in it speaks to me.
