Even aliens came to stare upwards at the glorious spirals of stained glass that reached to the heavens, the catacombs where bones glowed with internal light. They had been building their cathedrals since the first days of settlement, their histories told, but it was only when the other visitors started coming to see the stained glass cathedrals that they had become the only national industry. The stained glass harvest was in early spring, when the mornings still had some bite to them, before the heat came and ruined the sharp, clear color of the first shards, before it muddled together. She and her family had a share in a farm harvest of the stained glass, and she was--
