The panic began when people woke up and looked out their windows and saw that there was no sun. At first, maybe they thought that they'd just set their alarm wrong, so they stumbled downstairs and squinted at the other clocks in their house. Then they started feeling nervous. Maybe they turned on the TV, or the radio. When they couldn't get any signal, they probably started being scared. If they tried to call friends and neighbors, their cellphones would fail them too. If they tried using their landlines, on the chance that they still had such thing, they could get through--sometimes, and with lots of static on the line. I wonder which made them panic more, hearing that their friends had the same problem, or not being able to reach anybody? If I had to guess, I'd say not being--

Inspiration: Seeing "World Panic Day" on my calendar.
Story Potential: High-ish.
Notes: Mostly I just like tasty apocalyptic story ideas.
