Pool Player: Urban Fantasy
Jan. 19th, 2009 11:52 pmThe girl in the bar playing pool wasn't worried much about the guys watching her, not even the really rough-looking ones. She wasn't dressed to provoke anything, she didn't intend on starting trouble, and besides--she was just here to play pool. She wasn't even pool sharking, though her blonde prettiness would have made that easier for her. No, she was upfront about being a damn fine pool player, thankyouverymuch, and did anyone want to lay a wager that she could beat them? For the larger losers, she even bought them a pitcher of beer afterward, so the grumbling was mostly kept to a good natured murmur. Good for them, she thought, because her skill at the pool table was 1/3 luck and 2/3 skill. The skill she kept as long as there was a pool cue--

Notes: It shouldn't really be high potential, I guess, except I'm always kinda fascinated by the whole urban fantasy/magic/games of chance intersection. Pool doesn't fit, because it's mostly a game of skill, but still....
