It was half-skeleton and half-fish when he found it floating along in the thickest, dankest part of the harbor, the part where not even the urchin children were stupid enough to dangle their feet into. It was an unnatural-looking creature. He stared at it. Perhaps, he thought, he could use it to sell to the wizards. They liked to study odd things--though they always insisted that the strangest weren't *their* work, but the work of God, and not something that they should be punished for. Odd, how he'd never seen the wizards in the church come Sunday. This looked like more of their handiwork. Even setting aside that he found it floating in a part of the harbor--

Inspiration: The half-fish, half-skeleton photograph I took down by the Mississippi River.
Story Potential: Medium-high? Abysmally low? I can't tell.
Notes: I'm thinking maybe a curse on it that transforms him into a merman? Except in a thoroughly unpleasant manner?
