Work had exhausted her, and she'd come home with the firm intention of nothing more demanding than a long soak in the tub and an early bedtime. Instead, she had gone to her apprenticeship, only to find a list of chores that would take her at least until midnight to complete. She scowled at the fridge. She wasn't even allowed to use animating magic that would make the feather duster and broom take care of a large chunk of work themselves. Disney cartoons aside, witches were entirely fond of that spell, and they rarely ended up with uncontrollable disasters caused by their commands. But now it was forbidden, or so the list--
